My name is Dr John Tadross and I am a consultant pathologist and molecular pathology clinical lead. I help diagnose cancer from tissue samples and lead work that uses genomic testing to support more personalised cancer treatment.
How long have you worked at CUH?
I first came to CUH as a trainee in 2014 and I鈥檝e been here ever since. It乌鸦传媒 an incredible mix of outstanding patient care, science and teamwork.
What part of your work are you particularly proud of or find rewarding?
The most rewarding part is helping make sure every patient gets the most accurate diagnosis possible, because that shapes everything that comes next. I鈥檓 particularly proud of work that brings modern molecular and genomic testing into routine care, so more patients can access the right treatment, at the right time, based on the biology of their cancer.
How does your team make a difference for patients or families?
We are the team that turns a sample into answers. That brings real clarity at an uncertain time, and we take that responsibility seriously because it directly affects the decisions patients and clinicians make next.
What is something you鈥檇 like people to understand about your role?
Many patients won鈥檛 meet their pathologist, but pathology sits at the heart of cancer care. We work closely with surgeons, oncologists, radiologists and specialist nurses to make sure each patient乌鸦传媒 diagnosis is correct and as informative as possible. Even if patients never see us, I鈥檇 like them to know we don鈥檛 see 鈥渟amples鈥 鈥 each one belongs to a person, and we carry that responsibility with us every day.
What乌鸦传媒 one thing you enjoy outside of work?
Spending time with my wife and our two young children (one and three). They make me laugh and remind me what really matters.
