ѻý App connection with MyChart

From March 2026, a phased rollout will begin where outpatient appointments at our hospitals for patients aged 16+ will show under the ‘Upcoming and past appointments’ section of the ѻý App.

This will enable you to view details of your upcoming appointments at our hospitals (Addenbrookeѻý and The Rosie) alongside appointments you may also have at other hospitals all through the ѻý App.

Appointments at our hospitals will show the clinical specialty, date and time, and location/type of appointment, with (upon your consent) seamless and secure access through to your ѻý’ (CUH) MyChart patient portal account, enabling you to...

  • manage your appointments
  • complete pre- appointment information
  • electronically check-in for your appointments
  • interact with your medical record and clinical teams at our hospitals as usual.

All patients will be asked to consent within the ѻý App for their ѻý login details to be shared with CUH to access their MyChart account or used to set them up a MyChart account if they do not already have one.

This digital connection supports the ѻý Long Term Plan by making it easier for patients to manage their healthcare, view all their appointments in one place (particularly useful for patients with appointments at multiple hospitals), and use the ѻý App as a “digital front door” to access their health information via linked hospital patient portals.

Using the ѻý App to view your outpatient appointments

The ѻý App offers a single, convenient place to view appointment information – especially helpful if you also receive care at other hospitals.

It provides an additional way for you to access your MyChart account directly from your appointment information shown in the ѻý App.

You can however continue to access your MyChart account directly through the MyChart app or - exactly as you do now.

There will also be an additional option ‘Continue to ѻý login’ allowing you to log into MyChart directly using your ѻý login (ѻý App email and password) if you prefer.

If you don’t have a MyChart account

Even without MyChart, you will still be able to see your appointment details at our hospitals within the ѻý App. This is because appointment information will be securely shared from our hospitals’ electronic patient record system to the ѻý App.

When you view appointment details at our hospitals in the ѻý App, you will be asked whether you consent for your ѻý login details to be shared with CUH to create you a MyChart account.

Having a MyChart account will allow you to:

  • view your hospital information and full appointment details
  • complete pre appointment questionnaires / information appointment
  • access the full range of MyChart features to help you manage your care.

Logging into MyChart directly

You can access your MyChart account directly via the MyChart app or website.

Log in with either:

  • your existing MyChart username and password, face ID or passcode

Or

  • your ѻý login details (email address and password used for the ѻý App) via the ‘Continue to ѻý login’ button on the website (‘Or log in with other methods’ link in the MyChart app).

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does appointment information already visible in MyChart need to show in the ѻý App too?

Some of our patients have appointments at other hospitals too. This digital connection between the ѻý App and our MyChart patient portal supports the ѻý Long Term Plan by making it easier for patients to manage their healthcare, view all their appointments in one place (particularly useful for patients with appointments at multiple hospitals), and use the ѻý App as a “digital front door” to access their health information via linked hospital patient portals.

Why are only some of my appointments at your hospitals showing in the ѻý App?

Over the next few months, outpatient appointment information from all our clinical services is gradually being added to the ѻý App. Don’t worry if you don’t see your appointments in the ѻý App just yet as all your appointments at our hospitals will continue to show to you within your MyChart account.

Will appointment information still show in MyChart?

Yes. All your appointments at our hospitals will still show to you in MyChart as usual. MyChart is not being replaced by the ѻý App, the two systems will be used in conjunction with each other.

Will I still be able to complete pre-appointment information electronically through MyChart?

Yes. The expectation is that you continue to complete pre-appointment information within MyChart for all your appointments and that you continue using existing functionality in MyChart. You can either do this directly through MyChart or through the ѻý App.

If accessing your appointment information through the ѻý App, upon your consent you will be securely connected to your MyChart account (no need to log in as it will automatically match your ѻý login details to your MyChart account) when clicking on appointments for our hospitals within the ѻý App. This will allow to you to access your appointment information in full, complete pre-appointment tasks, check in for your appointments, complete questionnaires and access the full features of MyChart.

Will I be able to book, reschedule or cancel my appointments in the ѻý App?

No. You will however be able to do this via MyChart as we currently in the process of introducing patient self-scheduling and earlier appointment offers across our clinical services. Further information is available at:

Is the ѻý App replacing MyChart?

No. MyChart is the patient portal of ѻý ѻý Foundation Trust (Addenbrookeѻý and The Rosie hospitals), allowing our patients to view and interact with their hospital information and help them to manage their hospital care. Aspects contained within MyChart, such as appointment information, is being linked to the ѻý App to support a centralised view of appointments and to provide seamless connection to hospital information through a “digital front door” linking to hospital patient portals.

Will I need to set up new log in details to access MyChart from within the ѻý App?

No. When you click on appointments at our hospitals within the ѻý App, you will (upon your consent) be securely connected through to your MyChart account without needing to log in. This is because your ѻý details are matched against your MyChart account, allowing you to seamlessly and securely access your MyChart account from appointment information shown in the ѻý App.

Will I still be able to access my MyChart account using the MyChart app or website, as I currently do?

Yes. You can continue to access MyChart in the usual way via the MyChart app or website using your MyChart login details. There will however be an alternative way to log in using your ѻý credentials (email and password) using the ‘Continue with ѻý login’ button.

Will I see my appointment information in the ѻý App if I don’t have a MyChart account?

Yes. Even without a MyChart account you will still see your appointment information in the ѻý App (when your clinical service is linked to the ѻý App). This is because your appointment information held in our hospitals’ electronic patient record system is securely shared to the ѻý App. Only your ѻý number and appointment details are shared.

How can I get a MyChart account if I don’t have one already?

If you have appointments showing in the ѻý App for our hospitals, when you click on the appointment details, you will be asked if you consent for your ѻý details to be shared with ѻý’ MyChart patient portal. If you agree, this will automatically create a MyChart account for you based on your ѻý App login details.

If you do not have any appointments listed in the ѻý App for our hospitals, but you are a patient of our hospitals or you do not use the ѻý App you can sign up to MyChart:

  • either directly at:
  • or by clicking the ‘Continue with ѻý login’ button on entering your ѻý login details, consenting for your information to be shared with MyChart and following the on-screen instructions.
Once I have a MyChart account created through the ѻý App, can I access it outside of the ѻý App?

Yes. If your MyChart account has been created through the ѻý App using your ѻý credentials, you can access your MyChart account directly...

  • Use either the or the MyChart app (download from the App Store or Google Play and select ‘ѻý’ from the list of healthcare organisations).
  • If using the website, click the ‘Continue with ѻý login’ button option, enter your ѻý credentials (email and password), consent for your credentials to be shared with the ѻý App and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • If using the MyChart app, click the ‘Or log in with other methods’ link on the login screen, then the ‘Continue with ѻý login’ button and follow the on-screen instructions.
If I consent for a MyChart account to be set up for me through the ѻý App, will I still receive appointment letters through the post?

With a MyChart account, your appointment information is available to you electronically. Please ensure that you add your email address and telephone number to your MyChart account within the ‘Personal Information’ section. This will ensure that you receive communications about your appointments and ongoing care. If you would like to also receive paper letters, you can update your ‘Communication Preferences’ in MyChart to state this.

What can I use MyChart for?

MyChart is the patient portal for our hospitals – Addenbrookeѻý and The Rosie. It allows our patients secure access to parts of their health record to support engagement and involvement in their healthcare. Full details are available on our MyChart page.

Can I decline for my ѻý details to be shared with MyChart?

Yes. You do not have to consent to sharing your ѻý login details with Cambridge University Hospital MyChart patient portal. You can continue to view your appointment details through the ѻý App or log in to MyChart directly. Patients without a MyChart account will still receive appointment letters in the post from our hospitals.

Will I be able to see my childѻý information in the ѻý App?

Unfortunately not as the ѻý App does not currently support proxy access for viewing hospital appointments – this service being set up can only be accessed by patients aged 16 years and over. Proxy access for parents/guardians can however be set up in MyChart by speaking to your childѻý clinic receptionist or clinical team. If you have proxy access set up for your child, you will be able to view your childѻý record when you either log in to MyChart directly or access your MyChart account through the ѻý App.

Can I opt out of my appointment details being shared to the ѻý App?

Appointment details from hospitals are being securely shared to the ѻý App to provide a centralised view of appointments to help patients to better manage their care and keep on track of all their appointments. Patients of our hospitals that have ‘do not share’ flags on their hospital record will not have their appointment information shared to the ѻý App. Our Patient Privacy Notice is available here .
