Clinic 9 - Urgent Care Centre

Clinic 9 is for anyone who needs to see a doctor or nurse urgently but is not in a life-threatening condition.

Minor injuries

If you present to the Emergency Department with a minor injury, you will be directed to attend Clinic 9 to been seen and treated. X-ray facilities are available. The minor injury service operates 7 days a week 08:00 – 00:30.

If you present out of these hours to the Emergency Department, you will wait in the main waiting area. If you feel you have a minor injury, you can self-present to Clinic 9 within these hours and you will triaged by a Nurse.

GP service HUC

This service is for anyone who needs to see a Doctor or Nurse urgently, but is not in a life-threatening condition.

  • This is not a walk in service and an appointment has to be made by calling 111.
  • When calling 111, you will be triaged and given initial advice over the phone and will be offered either an appointment to attend the GP service or a telephone consultation. Please note if 111 give you a time to attend, this is not an exact appointment time, but more of a time slot for arrival.
  • In certain cases, a home visit may be appropriate.

GP service in hours

If you present to the Emergency Department you will be triaged by a Nurse. If they feel you can be seen by our GP, you will be directed to attend Clinic 9 and the GP will see you there. This operates between the hours of 8.00 – 23.00, 7 days a week. You cannot self-present to Clinic 9 to see a GP, you need to attend the main Emergency Department entrance to be triaged.

If someone is in a life-threatening condition call 999.

Parking

Patients and visitors arriving by car should head to car park 1, a short walk from the urgent treatment centre. There is also a drop off area outside the urgent treatment centre and a number of disabled parking bays.

Patients attending the urgent treatment centre will be charged the fixed outpatient rate, this can be found on . To obtain this reduced fee, proof of attendance will be required.

Your car park ticket will need to be stamped by reception staff at the urgent treatment centre before you leave.
